Several months ago Saddleback Church began offering a Holy Yoga class.
Worship Center – Rancho Capistrano
A Rancho Capistrano Campus Event
Come Join us for Holy Yoga Tuesday Mornings 9:00 to 10:00 in our Worship Center
Holy Yoga is co-ed and offers the same physical and strengthening benefits as yoga BUT it is done with scripture, prayer, and worship music. These classes are great for the release of tension, core strengthening, weight loss, lowering blood pressure, and better posture. You do not need to go to church here to take this class. In fact this is a great way to invite someone new! The cost for Holy Yoga is FREE!! Bring a yoga mat, your towel and water bottle!– http://www.saddleback.com/events/eventdetails.aspx?id=52061
HOLY YOGA DAY AND TIME CHANGE FOR NEXT WEEK ONLY!
NEXT WEEK HOLY YOGA WILL BE ON MONDAY, July 16th at 9:00 a.m.
Holy Yoga has officially begun at Saddleback Rancho Capistrano, and if Tuesday was any indication of this new ministry we are off to an AMAZING start! We had a wonderful turnout and are so excited to keep it going! PLEASE NOTE that for next week ONLY Holy Yoga will be on Monday at 9:00 a.m. in the worship center. If you know anyone interested in yoga this would be a great way to invite them to church!– http://saddleback.com/blogs/ranchocapistrano/index.html?contentid=11176
Holy Yoga is a worship experience combining the physical benefits of world class yoga with an intentional dedication to God through prayer, scripture, and contemporary Christian music. We breathe in His goodness and grace…and exhale tension and stress. It is coed, noncompetitive, and Christ honoring in fellowship. Come join us…!
Can Yoga ever be Christian?
Yoga: More than Meets the Eyes??
By Rev Ed Hird
You may find this a stretching article in body, mind and spirit. I have intentionally avoided writing this article for years, because I knew that it might be unavoidably controversial. With genuine reluctance, I faced my conflict avoidance, obeyed the Lord and read hundreds of yoga books in our local public libraries. In preparing this article, I have not read one book which warns against yoga. All book citations in this article are from yoga advocates and practitioners. To read more, click on:

What an excellent, well researched article!
