Rick Warren’s New Reformation Lines Up With Tony Blair’s “Open-minded” “Tolerant” World

We have to be prepared to take the security measures necessary for our immediate protection. . . .The answer is to promote views that are open-minded and tolerant towards those who are different, and to fight the formal, informal and internet propagation of closed-minded intolerance.” – Tony Blair

The following article (below) written by Tony Blair illustrates further the world’s efforts to bring about peace (without Christ) and its move toward a one-world religion, which will reject biblical Christians as extremists who are prone to terrorism. Of course, this is absurd as true born-again believers in Christ are not prone to violence. What Tony Blair and other leaders are really calling for is a world where those who say Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation are silenced.

Why is Islam Growing in the West?

The global Muslim population will grow by 35 percent over the next 20 years, from 1.6 billion to 2.2 billion by 2030. This reader’s question seems relevant today: “Why are Westerners drawn to Islam?” Other readers ask similar questions: “What is the contrast between salvation by grace vs. works in Islam? And what is a true comparison between Islam and the Bible?” How should Christians respond?

Let’s take the second question first. “Islam” is typically translated “submission,” in this case to the will and laws of Allah (the Arabic word for “God”). These laws are often summarized as the “five pillars of Islam.”

There are many translations and paraphrases of the Bible today. Is The Mirror Bible living water for the soul or has it turned God’s words to spiritual muck?

Jacob Prasch of Moriel Ministries clears the mud…

The Mirror Bible
by James Jacob Prasch
Jan 21, 2014

The God given standard of any translation is Nehemiah 8:8 – fidelity to the original meaning in the original language. The honest argument is between literal translations and dynamic equivalence, not paraphrases which should have no place except as children’s bibles for small children learning to read or in certain mission situations where a tribal culture may not yet have a written language.

This stupid substitute for The Word of God called the ‘Mirror’ (which is not even an actual bible, but a bastardisation of a portion of it) does not meet that standard. It is a bad paraphrase that deviates, often wildly, from the original Greek and is more designed to communicate the translator’s sermons than communicate the actual original meaning of the text. In short, the Mirror Bible is not a proper bible and to the extent it pretends to be it is a pseudo spiritual and inaccurate piece of junk of no value to anyone except Satan in his efforts to prevent God’s people from understanding God’s Word and the financial interests of the publisher and supposed translator. It is a sickening specimen of deception read by those deceived.

Ravi Zacharias: Popular Christian Apologist Speaks to 3,500 at Mormon Temple; Asks Faiths to Oppose ‘Lost Morality’ Together

Christian apologist and writer Ravi Zacharias addressed 3,500 evangelicals and Mormons at the LDS Tabernacle in Salt Lake City, Utah, asking that people from the two faiths stand together to oppose “relativism” and “lost morality.”

The two-day “Freedom and Friendship” event held last Friday and Saturday marked the second time that Zacharias had spoken at the Tabernacle. The apologist’s first meeting occurred 10 years ago, when he became the first non-Mormon speaker in the Tabernacle in 105 years.

Zacharias’ focused on how Christians and Mormons should make sense of a culture that increasingly relies on a “pragmatic philosophy with no accountability,” during his talk on Saturday.

While introducing Zacharias, the former president of Brigham Young University said that Mormons and Christians shared a love for the Lord Jesus Christ that would bring them together to stand for right to live by the truths of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

However, the truth has been seriously muddied, since the Mormon Jesus is different than the Christian Jesus.[1]

This interfaith bridge of working together for a cause is not new. Rick Warren has crossed it with the Muslims [2], and much of evangelical Christendom has been joining hands with Roman Catholicism [3]. As previously mentioned on this blog, the interfaith bridge is getting very crowded. They all say they are following the same Jesus, but be careful, your eternal destiny depends on which Jesus you follow.

Remember when Francis Chan rebuked Mike Gendron (whose ministry is to share the truth out of love for Roman Catholics)? Not many years later, IHOP scheduled Francis Chan to speak. It was about a year after IHOP had scheduled Catholic Track speakers who planned to “draw upon Catholic doctrine, practices, and tradition.” As it turned out, the Catholic participation was canceled, so the effort towards ecumenical unity did not happen at IHOP.

However, there is ongoing error being taught and practiced at IHOP, and Francis Chan has now spoken there. Here is what he said about IHOP and leader Mike Bickle, as the convergence on the bridge over the muddy waters of deception continues to be a concern…

Even more recently it has been discovered that IHOP contemplative Stephen Venable will be joining John Piper at the upcoming Linger Conference. (See endnotes.)

Meanwhile, another influential figure in the Christian spotlight also appears to be leading his followers across the same ecumenical bridge.

“James Robison sounds like the new spokesperson for Catholicism on his TV broadcast show Life Today. Robinson praised Fox News Contributor Fr. Jonathon Morris, claiming the Lord was upon him and we should listen to him.”

Robison also promotes the very popular Beth Moore, who has also recently been on an ecumenical path. She “supports the error of contemplative prayer and apparently considers Roman Catholicism to be another Christian denomination” (carm.org). (Included in Robison’s new Heaven & Health CD/DVD Series, booklet & The Seven Pillars of Health is a bonus message from Beth Moore on DVD. Beth Moore appears every Wednesday on LIFE TODAY, and Robison also sells many of her resources.)

Every year more influential leaders are being noticed heading over the ecumenical bridge to Rome. It is becoming a very popular and very crowded road. Who will be next?

Be careful who you follow.
