Open Letter To Evangelical and Protestant Pastors Worldwide – Now is the Day to Turn Back to God’s Word

May 31, 2011

From: Roger Oakland, Understand The Times

The following letter is to all Bible-believing pastors throughout the world who have been or are being influenced by current trends that are attacking the Word of God through the postmodern humanistic mystical belief system. I have witnessed this deception firsthand on a worldwide basis but am most familiar with what has been happening in the two fellowships I have been part of for the past thirty years – one in Canada and one based in southern California.

It is with a heavy heart I write this open letter to those who consider themselves evangelical or Protestant pastors. While my desire is to do this respectfully and with the love of the Lord, I am compelled with a strong sense of responsibility to write this warning.

The fact is we are living in a time in history where there is great spiritual apostasy (a falling away), and sadly, many pastors don’t even realize it is happening. Others realize it but don’t know what to do about it, while still others see it but promote it anyway. The purpose of this letter is to shine light on the darkness that has crept into so many churches today.

The Gospel of Self

Part 1: Self-Centeredness

By Pastor Anton Bosch

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
For men shall be lovers of their own selves,…”
(1 Timothy 3:1-2a) [emphasis added]

We seldom take notice, when things change very slowly. I am sure you know the story (probably an urban legend) that if you threw a frog in a pot of boiling water, it would immediately jump out of the water, but if it is put into the pot when the water is cold and the water is gradually heated, it will stay there until it is dead.

The Gospel in the western world has gradually been changed over the past 50 (or more) years so that what is believed to be the gospel today is no longer the true Gospel but a false gospel which differs substantially and dramatically from the true Gospel. But because the changes have been brought in gradually, no one seems to have noticed.

The Church of Oprah Winfrey and a Theology of Suffering

“The Oprah Winfrey Show” ended Wednesday, bringing despair to booksellers who relied on her book club, television programmers who needed her ratings, and religion scholars who for a decade have tried explaining how this child of poverty became the leader of a worldwide cult. They have worked just as hard to define that cult, which is at once Christian and pantheistic, African-American in origin but global in reach.

Glenn Beck’s Black Robe Regiment, The New Apostolic Reformation, Neo-evangelicalism and Dominion Theology. One of the leaders of Glenn Beck’s Black Robe Regiment is Pastor Tom Mullins of Christ Fellowship in West Palm Beach. What can we learn about Mullins and his associates that will help us understand his worldview. Mullins’ teaching pastor at his church is John Maxwell who has filled the pulpit for Robert Schuller’s Crystal Cathedral. C. Peter Wagner of the New Apostolic Reformation, Rick Warren, and John Maxwell have produced an audio book entitled “The Purposeful Church”. Wagner of the NAR has also endorsed Maxwell’s Equip organization. Numerous researchers report that Maxwell has served on the board of “Lead Like Jesus” for Ken Blanchard along with Rick Warren, Bob Buford and Bill Hybels. Blanchard apparently was appointed by Rick Warren to assist him with his global PEACE plan. Maxwell’s book “Thinking for a Change” has been endorsed by Ken Blanchard and Maxell has written the forward to Blanchard’s book “The Secret”. Mullins is also listed as a board member on Maxwell’s Equip website. Blanchard’s endorsement is on the Back Cover of Deepak Chopra’s 7 Spiritual Laws of Success. Is Beck using neo-evangelicals and are neo-evangelicals using Beck. Are they all using each other to further their individual brands of dominion theology and neo-evangelicalism?

What is your number? the Enneagram asks. What is the Enneagram? you may ask back. For those who aren’t aware of this fast-growing phenomenon, the Enneagram is a diagram depicting numbers one through nine, with lines connecting each number to two other numbers, and is promoted by its adherents as a tool to use for personality analysis. But the Enneagram, despite being endorsed as an aid for psychological assessment, actually has its roots in the occult, as this article will show. More disturbing than that, in recent years the Enneagram – along with so many other occultic practices – has crept into the Christian church. This is even more startling than seeing it used in the secular world. Not only is it being used and promoted by some Christians, but it is even being defended as a tool based on biblical principles.

What Is The Enneagram?

Some popular teachers who promote the Enneagram as a Christian tool include Brian McLaren and his friend Richard Rohr. McLaren offers the following advice to one of his readers here:

“3. You mention perfectionism – and you see this as something you’re doing to yourself. I think that’s important … A lot of people focus their blame on others (as it may have seemed I was doing in #1 above) – their parents, their church, etc. But in the end, our worst enemy is often inside us … I’m not sure if you’re familiar with the Enneagram, but perfectionism is a special struggle of Type 1’s … and in Myers-Briggs terms, NT’s and NF’s and some SJ’s can be really hard on themselves too, in various ways. (So can SP’s …)”

-Brian McLaren

McLaren may have picked up this perspective from his friend Father Richard Rohr who has written a book called The Enneagram: A Christian Perspective.

O no! USA Today challenges Oprah on Jesus Christ
‘Absolutely contrary to the true teaching of Scripture and historic Christianity’

As Oprah Winfrey’s television show comes to a conclusion this week, USA Today is challenging the queen of daytime TV’s spirituality, quoting authors who say Oprah’s beliefs are “absolutely contrary to the true teaching of Scripture and historic Christianity.”

The report by Cathy Lynn Grossman opens by asking to whom will Oprah turn now that she’s leaving the TV talk circuit.

“God?” the report asks. “Not likely. Many Americans no longer believe in a mighty judge who sets the rules for life now and forever. Instead, many of us sing Oprah’s song of self-redemption.”

Exposing the Jesuit Order: Brannon’s guest is Chris Pinto. Chris and Brannon have both been researching the Catholic Jesuit Order that reports directly to the Pope. Hear the oath the higher Jesuits swear to that includes “waging relentless war, secretly or openly, against all heretics, Protestants…as I am directed to do, to extirpate and exterminate them from the face of the whole earth…” Jesuits are committed to ecumenicalism, social justice/liberation theology, and a dominion theology that seeks to create a world government controlled by the Church of Rome. Learn about the logo of Jesuit University, Georgetown and the meaning of this logo. In 2008, the Jesuit Superior General was quoted in a Catholic News Agency as calling for giving liberation theology more time to be accepted. Learn how Jesuit priest, Pierre Teilhard de Chardin is known as one of the early leaders of the New Age Movement and how he greatly influenced the leaders of the United Nations and their quest for a cosmic global government. On May 25, 2011 a Jesuit will be sworn in as the chaplain of the U.S. House of Representatives. Brannon and Chris discuss how the Jesuit Order secretly penetrates political organizations, educational institutions and media outlets. Most disturbing is their infiltration into protestant denominations, seminaries and organizations in order to introduce and promote the mysticism of the Church of Rome such as contemplative prayer, walking a prayer labyrinth, lectio divina, and prayer ropes in an attempt to move the world religions back to the Church of Rome.
