THE EMERGING CHURCH TRANSFORMING CHRISTIANITY

If you think this looks like people practicing Zen Buddhist meditation, you’d be correct. If you think this is at a Zendo in a Zen Center, you’d be wrong. This is Reverend Shinko Rick Slone, whom Apprising Ministries told you about in The Emerging Church TransFORM East Coast Apostasia-Palooza, leading the “Stillness Meditation” which opens each day of the TransFORM heresy-fest.

It’s all part of A New Kind of Christianty being advanced by the Emergent Church, a new form of Progressive Christian theology New Age mystic Deepak Chopra recently called “the resurrection of a new global Christianity that will restore our faith both in ourselves and in the divine.”

Loxahatchee church designs yoga class for Christians
Christian yoga combines the ancient exercise with prayer and meditation
April 26, 2010|By Lois K. Solomon, Sun Sentinel

Chakras. The “third eye.” Sanskrit chanting. “Om.”

These staples of many yoga classes are a turnoff to some Christians.

But a Palm Beach County class, combining yoga and Pilates with Christian prayer and meditation, steers clear of yoga’s Hindu roots and seeks to show that Christian faith is compatible with the ancient form of movement and relaxation.

The class, called Praisemoves, is sponsored by Community of Hope, a non-denominational evangelical church in Loxahatchee. It begins with a prayer thanking the Lord for bringing the group together.

The Vatican has created a new church structure to accommodate non-Catholics
April 27, 2010

Pope Benedict has approved a new church provision that will allow non-Catholics and in particular, the Anglicans, to convert to Catholicism while at the same time, maintaining many of their distinctive spiritual and liturgical traditions.

The Vatican made this decision in response to the disillusionment of some Anglicans over the election of openly gay bishops and the blessing of same sex marriage which has caused a major uproar in the Anglican church not only in England, but across the world.

This never-before provision for Protestants to become a part of the Catholic Church has many Protestant leaders concerned about the breakdown in doctrinal differences between the Catholics and Protestants that came out of the Reformation 500 years ago.

Jimmy’s Prophetic Prospective on the News

The announcement by the Vatican in Rome that the Pope has approved a church provision that will allow non-Catholics to convert to Catholicism is setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

In response to the outcry by the Church of England, the Anglicans, about women bishops, openly gay bishops and gay unions, the Vatican has made a way to accommodate these disgruntled Protestants. This Vatican accommodation to Protestants has Protestant Church leaders preparing to see a flow of new converts to Catholicism and its liturgical pattern of worship especially in light of the growth of the emerging church philosophy.

Revelation 17 predicts a worldwide church will be in operation during the seven year period of judgment found in Bible prophecy and known as the Tribulation. In the first 3 1/2 years of this time in the future, this one-world religion will be headquartered in a seven-hilled city, Revelation 17:9, and that city would be the city of Rome, the location of the Vatican. This mother-son cult first established in Babylon 4,500 years ago, Genesis 11:4b, has survived history and will play a major role in the last days.

This announcement from Pope Benedict at the Vatican is indeed setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

A Leading New Age and Emergent Church Leader is to be Featured at a Calvary Chapel, Albuquerque Event

Moriel has received a number of inquiries and comments regarding the invitation by Skip Heitzig extended to Leonard Sweet, the New Age Christian mystic usually identified with the “Emergent Church”, a movement against which senior Calvary pastor and founder Pastor Chuck Smith publicly opposed.

The event s to be held at Calvary Chapel, Albuquerque along with the so-called music ministry of a Roman Catholic worship leader in what has been described as the first official New Age/Ecumenical event to take place at a Calvary Chapel. This despite the majority of Calvary Chapel pastors not subscribing to the event’s Ecumenical agenda who support the expressed position of Pastor Chuck Smith opposing tenets and practices of the Post-Modern mysticism defining the Emergent Church, seeking to prevent it from entering into Calvary Chapels. The announcement follows a public financial scandal reaching the secular press at the same church in 2008.

The following is about Thomas Merton and what he believed…

“He (Merton) became increasingly interested in Buddhism and Asian monasticism. In 1968, he received permission to attend a conference on monasticism in Bangkok. There is rare footage of Merton from that conference.”

THOMAS MERTON (in video from 1968 Bangkok conference): That’s a thing of the past now, to be suspicious of other religions, and to look always at what is weakest in other religions and what is highest in our own religion. This double standard of dealing with religions — this has to stop.

According to what Thomas Merton said and did, we can know that he did not believe that what Jesus said about Himself was true.

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” John 14:6

If a Christian leader, teacher or professor leads you to Thomas Merton, whose words will you listen to?

“For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.” Matthew 7:14
