ASSEMBLY OF GOD CEO FORMS TIES OF FAITH WITH CHURCH OF LDS

“God is playing a role in all religions and that Christians are more united than they sometimes think.” ~ George O. Wood, Assembly of God’s CEO

The question is, united around what? Around which God? The eternal Christ that Christians worship, or the created being whose brother is Lucifer?

(…) Yes, some strange things have been happening with the Assemblies’ top leadership these past few months. Last month at the Assemblies of God “Believe” Conference, leadership brought in New Age Contemplative key player Ruth Haley Barton. Top leadership ignored the warnings and pleas of even ordained AOG ministers, but to no avail.

And now it appears the AOG CEO and his leadership team are joining hands to find common ground with top Mormon leaders at BYU….

Why is World Vision Canada promoting a ‘how to’ book about The Rule of St. Benedict, spiritual disciplines and monastic life?

Wonderful summer read: God in My Everything

Buzz grows around Ken Shigematsu’s new book, God in My Everything
http://churches.worldvision.ca/buzz-grows-around-ken-shigematsus-new-book-god-in-my-everything/

God in My Everything, How Ancient Rhythm Helps Busy People Enjoy God (Zondervan) is written by Ken Shigematsu, senior pastor at Tenth Church (www.tenth.ca) in Vancouver, British Columbia. In the book he shares the ancient wisdom of the spiritual masters, from his samurai ancestors to the practices of monks in Ireland. To read more about what his book is about, click HERE to read a review by Brave Reviews, or watch the following video…

Not only is World Vision Canada promoting contemplative spiritual formation through this book, they have also been promoting Red Letter Christian Tony Campolo and New Monastic progressive Shane Claiborne and their social justice, reinforcing World Vision’s apparent anti-Israel leanings:

Much more could be said but it’s been clear for a while now that, even though they do a lot of good in the world, the gospel of World Vision appears to have been muddied by the change agents of progressive Christianity.

One country, two religions and three very telling pictures: The empty pews at churches just yards from an overcrowded mosque

-Two photos show Sunday morning services in churches in East London
-The third shows worshippers gathered for Friday midday prayers outside a nearby mosque
-The difference in numbers could hardly be more dramatic

Set aside the fact that our Queen is the Defender of the Christian Faith. Ignore the 26 Church of England bishops who sit in the House of Lords.
Pay no attention to the 2011 Census that told us 33.2 million people in England and Wales describe themselves as Christians.
For if you want a more telling insight into religion in the United Kingdom today, just look at these photographs. The story they tell is more revealing than any survey.

It happened in England. As Churches were converted into mosques at an alarming rate, Islam became the fasting growing religion in Europe.[1] Is this what we are beginning to see in America as Islam marches westward? [2]

Recently Closed Conn. Episcopal Church Leased to Muslim Group as Part of Interfaith Partnership

A recently closed church property belonging to the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut will soon be leased to a local Muslim group as part of an interfaith partnership.
The Diocese recently announced the creation of the partnership that provides the Farmington Valley American Muslim Center with facilities used by the former Christ Episcopal Church of Avon.
Dr. Khamis Abu-Hasaballah, president of the FVAMC, told The Christian Post that they are “thrilled” by the interfaith partnership and plan to move into the Avon property soon.

Francis Chan to speak at IHOP-KC Onething Conference

Francis Chan is scheduled to speak at the IHOP-KC Onething Conference in late December. [1] So is Banning Liebscher, director of Jesus Culture. And, yes, Jesus Culture will be there as well. Matt Redman is also on the docket.
Last year International House Of Prayer leadership scheduled a Catholic Track at Onething without ever revealing this on the IHOP website. The Catholic Track speakers planned to “draw upon Catholic doctrine, practices, and tradition and touch on the larger conference’s themes centering on Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount.” [2]
Catholic participation was canceled, so the IHOP effort at “unity” did not happen.

The Bridge

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:18

Clearly, the cross of Jesus Christ is the only bridge to eternal life…
