The muddy spirituality of contemplative spiritual formation and Roman Catholic spiritual practices has entered many protestant churches. One such church is the Canadian Christian Missionary Alliance Church, where Jesuit Spirituality has entered in (the Circle Drive Alliance Church in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, to be precise, at www.cdac.ca).
Gary Bellamy is an ordained Pastor with the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church and has pastored for 23 years. Gary’s studies in the area of spiritual direction include studies at Canadian Theological Seminary, St. Michaels Franciscan order as well as Jesuit studies at Queen’s House. Gary is a licenced member of *Spiritual Direction International.

This Alliance church has several blogs. One is a blog for this spiritual director (http://blogs.cdacfamily.ca/garybellamy/) which talks about the desert fathers. They also have another blog (http://blogs.cdacfamily.ca/gordholtslander/)
which recommends the Queen’s House retreat center (http://www.queenshouse.org/index.shtml) for Taize prayer. This is a contemplative center which, besides offering Taize prayer, also promotes centering prayer.
It’s surprising to see that this has entered into the belly of evangelicalism. As the mud settles, we can only pray that the members of this church will begin to see more clearly and will be able to discern the truth before they are drawn completely away to the other side of the bridge over muddy waters.
I’d be interested in responding to your concerns, but I’ve never had much success in engaging an
‘anonymous, opinionated, mischievous, harmless, divisive, clever, passionate, critical, gossiping, ghost, shadow blogs’
in the past. Any time you are willing to admit who you are, I’d be delighted to talk to you as a person.
Just wanted to let you know that the above statements of who I am and what I practice is very accurate. However, in order to leave you a note you require my name yet I do not know who you are.
With respect
Gary Bellamy
I am so grateful that the Lord pulled myself and a number of other’s out of a CM&A church in Saskatchewan (not Circle Drive) because of the spiritual formation/deception that we were watching. My heart breaks that, in our attempts at warning the elders, the pastors and other believers, that we told we didn’t know what we were talking about. So many of my beloved brother’s and sister’s are risking their eternal salvation and it appalls me that the leadership of the Cm&A continues on this horrible, destructive road. More than not, they have become exactly like the church at Laodecia. Where the shepherd leads, the flock will follow. Thank you for exposing yet another CM&A church that is not sticking to sola scripture.
I am a retired C&MA pastor and my heart bleeds when I read articles such as these. I understand “So grateful’s” concern and actions. When leadership in a denomination promotes the work of men like Rick Warren, Bill Hybels, etc, and accuses anyone that disagrees, with spreading poison in the church, then I have to wonder if said leadership recognizes poison when they see. “Where the shepherd leads, the flock will follow.” GOD HELP US!
